Design Challenge

Design a print publication that promotes a selected collection from the Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt Museum. Curate imagery and conduct research to inform your concept and visual direction. Using Adobe InDesign, develop a cohesive visual system integrating typography, imagery, and messaging. Consider narrative flow, pacing, and hierarchy throughout the publication. Ensure your design responds thoughtfully to the target audience while aligning with Cooper Hewitt’s brand identity

Solution

Suzie Zuzek for Lilly Pulitzer: The Prints That Made The Fashion Brand exhibition publication is made to interest people in attending this Cooper Hewitt Exhibit. I began the process with researching about Suzie Zuzek, and understanding more about her. Then I learned more about the brand guidelines, and selected the correct imagery for the exhibition. The visual system had a modular grid, Cooper Hewitt fonts, bold typography, Cooper Hewitt logos, vintage images and a layout that was clearly made for the brand. I used fun shapes, and a strong color palette of golds, pinks, and whites to highlight Suzie and her works. The images and layout create an interest for the viewer and carry them throughout the publication.
